    Location:
    Hollygrove
About Me Librarian at heart, Storyteller by vocation, Wench by nature.
Music A grab bag of different stuff-- classical, classic rock, Renaissance music, some hard rock, folk... I even like a smidge of country (a very small smidge) and a pinch of Rap (tiny pinch).
Movies The Mummy, Princess Bride, Mel Brooks movies, black comedies, Dogma, Divorcing Jack...
TV Very little TV gets watched at my house aside from Stargate reruns and Ghost Hunters. The Sci-Fi channell and History channell are the most watched... then there's the Brit TV: Blackadder, Red Dwarf, Keeping up Appearances and Chef are tops on my list.
Books Terry Pratchet, Neil Gaiman and Robert Asprin top my list. Rowling, Brooks, Weiss and Hickman, and Elizabethan Mysteries are faves unless I've got a book about Egypt in my clutches. Then just leave me alone once you've brought me my coffee.
Likes Honest, open, mature people, and a good debate. The smell of a campfire, a good story, a cool faire day...and...DUH, A GOOD BOOK!
Dislikes People who use made up words because they want to sound like they're intellectually superior. Normally, they haven't the brains to look up the word to see what it actually means, and use it incorrectly...thereby inspiring another idiot to use it incorrectly (because they're too important to look it up as well)...which purpetuates the use of words that are not words at all....

Bottom line...? If I hear you utter the words 'irregardless' or 'orientate' in my presence, I will slap you with a herring.
Hobbies Reading, sewing, reading, singing off key, jewelry making (for garb), sewing, reading, disc golf, and blogging.
Vices eh...how much space have we got?
    Virtues I'm.......em. er...

let me get back to you on that.

I think I'll go for a walk. I feel happy....

"I AINTE DED" as Granny Weatherwax would say....

I just forgot my password for my site. Yes, silly me. But I remembered it again, by haps, actually, and so I thought I'd update life as I know it today.

It's nice and warm. The flower beds are weeded. The lawn needs mowing.

A new neighbor moved in across the street, a nice family with 2 boys. The divorced next door neighbor has a girlfriend, and she has 2 little ones. The sound of children was heard all over this past weekend. This is fine with me. Sometimes my neighborhood is TOO QUIET.

You could say: Gas prices are inching up -- but it's more like the inchworm is riding a Harley. Summer is going to be ugly at the pump again. Oh joy.

You know that little line at the bottom of the container of Duncan Hines Frosting - the one that says 'will frost an 8" layer cake? well.... they LIE.  You can MAYBE frost the top. Thinly. PERHAPS you can get 3 cupcakes well topped. That's it.

If you're looking to frost the whole of a double layer cake, with frosting in the middle of the two layers, and you also want frosting on the sides of the cake, AND you want more than a 'WAFFER THIN' layer on top, take my advise and get 4 LARGE containers. You'll thank me later, when you don't have to go out to the store to buy more frosting.

On the plus side, there's no mistaking the cake I made for Frank for his birthday as being store bought. :-)

Mayhap thou wilst commit thy password unto parchment for future reference? A quill and ink are of common usage yet.
